Fr fr Cornbread

I ABSOLUTELY remembered promising you guys recipes that enhanced pre made things for easier cooking and here is one that I hold very close to my heart. And close enough to the holidays!

Has anybody here been victimized by really dry cornbread that lacks flavor and good texture?

Raises hand*

It’s when I first learned the ‘flip’ trick at family and friend parties.

It’s when you subtly flip your plate upside down when you throw it away so the next person doesn’t see that you didn’t see a certain item.

I know, wasting food, but I don’t know man, I’m only human.

So I am here to teach you how to make amazing cornbread without breaking the bank, wasting food, and being THAT guy or girl who made everyone drink an extra cup of water.

So when I first made corn bread from the box I just didn’t understand why there weren’t bits of corn in it, so.. I added some.

Hence the name: Foreal Foreal Cornbread, because it has corn in it..fr fr.

I also like my cornbread on the sweeter side, so if you don’t, don’t make this.

Also, I use two boxes to make sure it is a thicker bread because thinner ones for me come out a bit drier than I would want.

LETS GET THIS BREAD.

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees

  • Take a large bowl and add 1 can of drained corn, 1 teaspoon of honey, 3 beaten eggs, 4 tablespoons of sugar, ½ cup of milk, and ½ cup of sour cream and then add your 2 jiffy cornbread boxes

  • Stir and mix to incorporate well

  • Let it sit for 10 minutes for a good “crown”

  • Grease your 13/12 x 9 pan of choice with butter or spray

  • Add your batter and set in the oven at the middle rack or higher

  • Make sure your oven doesn’t have any hot spots, if so, move accordingly. If you do not know, just turn your cornbread half way through the cooking time and add one minute

  • Bake for 28 minutes

  • Take out and let cool

  • Now be the cool kid with the best cornbread
